Terms and Condition

These Terms and Conditions apply to anyone who submits a video to It Is My Talent (we, us, our). By submitting a video, you confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.

It Is My Talent is an open platform. We publish approved performances on our official YouTube channel. The public decides results through views and likes.

Important YouTube notice

This competition is run by It Is My Talent, not YouTube. YouTube is not a sponsor of this competition. By entering, you release YouTube from any liability related to this competition.

1. Definitions

Submission means the video and the information you send using our submission form.
AI Generated Content means any content created, altered, enhanced, or imitated using artificial intelligence tools. This includes (but is not limited to) AI-generated or AI-modified video, AI voice or voice cloning, AI-generated music or instruments, AI-generated faces, filters that replace or change a person’s face, deepfakes, lip-sync AI, and any synthetic or computer-generated performance elements that are not genuinely performed by the Participant.
Participant means the person or group appearing in the video.
Submitter means the person who uploads the video through the form (this may be one person representing a group).
Season means a set period made up of multiple monthly cycles, as published by us on our website or official channels.
Monthly Winner means the single winner selected each month.
Grand Prize means the end of season prize.

2. Eligibility

2.2 Entries

  1. There is no minimum age to submit.
  2. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent, and we will request guardian details before we approve, publish, or award prizes.
  3. You confirm the information you provide is accurate (name, date of birth/age, location, contact details).
  4. We may request proof of age and guardian consent at any time. If you cannot provide it, we may decline, remove the entry, or withhold prizes.

2.2 Group entries

  1. Group performances are allowed.
  2. The Submitter confirms they have permission from every person who appears in the video.
  3. If anyone in the group is under 18, the Submitter confirms that parent or legal guardian consent has been obtained, and we may request guardian details for each under-18 participant before approval, publishing, or prizes.

2.3 Guardian details

If a Participant is under 18, we may request parent or legal guardian details, which may include:

  • Guardian full name
  • Relationship to the Participant
  • Email address and phone number
  • Country/city
  • Confirmation of consent (written or recorded)

We use this only for consent, safeguarding, and competition administration.

3. What you can submit

3.1 Categories

We may ask you to choose a category (for example Singing, Dancing, Acting and Creative Performance). Categories help organise content. There is only one Monthly Winner across all categories.

We may adjust the category label for clarity (for example if a performance fits better elsewhere).

3.2 Video length

There is no limit regarding video length.

3.3 Recorded specifically for It Is My Talent

Your video must be recorded specifically for It Is My Talent and must not be published elsewhere before submission. This includes YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and any public website.

If we find your video has been published before, we may decline or remove it.

3.4 Original performance and permissions

  1. Your performance must be your own (or your group’s).
  2. You must not submit someone else’s performance.
  3. If you include other people in the video (performers or audience), you confirm you have their permission to appear.
  4. You must not include private information in the video (home address, school name, phone numbers, identity documents).

4. Rights, copyright, and music

4.1 Your responsibility

You are responsible for making sure your submission does not infringe anyone else’s rights. This includes music, sound effects, choreography, scripts, clips, images, logos, and brand names.

4.2 Copyright and Content ID

Even if you recorded the performance yourself, third party music or clips can still trigger copyright claims or blocks on YouTube. This is controlled by YouTube and rightsholders, not us.

If your video includes copyrighted material without permission, we may decline it to avoid takedowns, blocks, strikes, muting, or limitations.

4.3 If a claim happens

If a copyright issue, legal complaint, or takedown request is made against your video:

  • we may remove or restrict the video, and
  • you are responsible for resolving the claim.

5. Video style rules

We want your performance to be clear and easy to watch.

5.1 Overlay text and readability

  • No overlay text that covers the performance (including captions, promotional text, or large on screen writing).
  • Small original elements that are part of the performance set (for example a physical sign in the room) are allowed, as long as they are not offensive and not promotional.

5.2 Effects and editing

We allow creative choices and special effects if they are part of your act and the performance is still clear. For example, creative lighting, props, or visual effects may be acceptable.

We may decline videos where editing or effects:

  • hide what is happening, or
  • make the performance misleading, or
  • turn it into something that is not a real performance.

5.3 Background and setting

A plain or simple background is strongly recommended. If the background makes it hard to see the performance, we may decline.

6. Technical upload rules

  1. Only one video file per submission.
  2. Maximum file size is 500MB.
  3. Supported formats include: avi, divx, flv, mov, ogv, mkv, mp4, m4v, mpg, mpeg, mpe.
  4. If your file is corrupted, incomplete, or cannot be opened, it may be declined.

7. Quality rules (common reasons for decline)

Phone recordings are welcome. Your video still needs to be clear.

Your video may be declined if:

  1. The audio is too quiet, distorted, or drowned out by background noise.
  2. The performance is not visible (too dark, out of frame, blocked view).
  3. The camera shakes so much that viewers cannot follow the performance.
  4. There are long sections that are blank, silent, or unrelated to the act.
  5. The performance is unclear, incomplete, or does not match the category.
  6. The face is not clearly visible in the video.

8. Language, gestures, signs, and symbols

Because the platform is open to all ages, we aim to keep content suitable for a wide audience.

Your submission will be declined or removed if it includes:

  1. Hate speech or slurs that target a person or group. YouTube Policy
  2. Threats, bullying, harassment, or intimidation. YouTube Policy
  3. Explicit sexual language or sexualised content, especially involving minors. YouTube Policy
  4. Obscene gestures that are clearly meant to insult, threaten, or sexually degrade.
  5. Offensive signs, banners, or symbols that promote hate, violence, or harassment. YouTube Policy

Strong language that is frequent, aggressive, or the main focus of the performance may be declined. If you want the best chance of approval, keep language clean.

9. Content we do not accept

We do not accept content that includes or promotes:

  1. Hate speech, harassment, threats, or abuse.
  2. Nudity, sexual content, or sexualised behaviour.
  3. Violence, weapons, self-harm, or dangerous stunts.
  4. Illegal activity or instructions to break the law.
  5. Political campaigning or religious campaigning.
  6. Impersonation, deepfakes, or content that misleads viewers about who is performing.
  7. Content that risks serious harm to you or others.
  8. AI Generated Content or AI-assisted performances. This includes any AI-generated or AI-modified video or audio (such as voice cloning, deepfakes, face replacement, AI lip-sync, or synthetic instruments). Performances must be real and performed by the Participant(s). If we believe AI was used in any way to create or manipulate the performance, the submission will be declined or removed.

10. Review and approval

  1. Every submission is reviewed for rules, safety, clarity, and basic quality.
  2. Submitting a video does not guarantee approval or publication.
  3. Approval is at our discretion.
  4. We may decline without giving detailed feedback.

10.1 Common decline reasons (the ones we most often see)

We may decline if your video:

  • is over 500MB
  • cannot be opened or has upload issues
  • has been published elsewhere
  • includes copyrighted material without permission
  • has unclear audio or poor visibility
  • includes hate speech, threats, explicit sexual content, or dangerous behaviour
  • includes overlay text covering the performance
  • does not have required permissions (for example group members, under 18 consent)
  • includes AI Generated Content or an AI-assisted performance

10.2 Resubmission

If submissions are still open, you may submit again with a corrected version. If submissions are closed, you can submit in the next monthly cycle.

10.3 Multiple submissions per month

Each person may submit only one video per monthly cycle.

This applies regardless of:

  • category chosen,
  • whether the submission is solo or part of a group,
  • whether the same person appears in multiple videos.

If we receive more than one submission from the same person in the same month, we may:

  • review only one submission at our discretion, or
  • decline or disqualify all submissions for that month.

If a submission is declined, the same person may submit one corrected version within the same month, provided submissions are still open.

10.4 Submission period

Submissions open on the 1st day of each month and close at the end of the same month (23:59, local time unless stated otherwise in the official monthly schedule).

Late submissions will not be accepted.

11. Publishing and promotion rights

By submitting, you grant It Is My Talent a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to:

  1. publish your video on our official YouTube channel, website, and social media
  2. use your name or stage name, performance title, and description in posts and promotions
  3. create promotional clips (for example reels, shorts, highlights) from your video
  4. add platform branding such as an intro, outro, watermark, thumbnails, captions for accessibility, or formatting changes needed for publishing

You keep ownership of your original work.

12. Social media links and tagging

Providing social media links is optional.

If you provide links, you confirm:

  1. the accounts belong to you or you have permission to share them
  2. you give permission for us to tag you when we promote your entry (where possible)

If you later ask us not to tag you, we will stop tagging going forward, but we may not be able to edit old posts everywhere.

13. Voting, scoring, and fair play

13.1 Scoring method

Your score is based on public activity on our official YouTube channel:

  • 1 view = 1 point
  • 1 like = 2 points

We do not use backstage judging.

13.2 No fake engagement

You must not try to manipulate results by using:

  • bots, scripts, or automated systems
  • paid likes, paid views, click farms, engagement farms, or “like exchange” schemes
  • misleading incentives, such as offering money or gifts for likes

YouTube does not allow artificial inflation of views, likes, comments, or other metrics. YouTube Policy

If we suspect manipulation, we may disqualify or remove the entry.

13.3 YouTube metrics can change

YouTube may audit and remove views or likes it considers invalid. Invalid traffic includes fraudulent, artificial, or even unintentional boosting activity. YouTube Policy

If YouTube removes or adjusts views or likes, we will use the updated numbers visible on YouTube at the time we finalise results.

13.4 Voting period

Public voting opens on the 1st day of each month and closes at the end of the same month (23:59, local time unless stated otherwise in the official monthly schedule).

14. Monthly Winner and Grand Prize

14.1 Monthly Winner

Each month, there is one winner only across all entries.

The Monthly Winner is the entry with the highest score at the published closing time for that month, based on YouTube metrics.

14.2 Grand Prize at end of season

At the end of the Season, there will be a Grand Prize.

The Grand Prize rules, eligibility, and the method of selecting the Grand Prize winner will be published clearly on our website or official channels before the Grand Prize voting or calculation begins.

Unless we state otherwise for a specific season, only Monthly Winners are eligible for the Grand Prize.

14.3 Verification

We may require the winner to verify identity, age, eligibility, guardian consent (if under 18), and payment details before awarding prizes. If a winner cannot be verified or is found to have broken these terms, they may be disqualified and the prize may be offered to the next eligible participant.

Any taxes, fees, or bank charges are the winner’s responsibility where applicable.

14.4 Winner announcement

Monthly Winners are announced on the 3rd day of the following month, after we finalise results and complete any required checks (for example verification, YouTube metric audits, or technical delays).

15. Disqualification, removal, and complaints

We may remove a video, disqualify an entry, or ban a submitter if:

  1. the submission breaches these terms
  2. we receive a copyright complaint or legal complaint
  3. we detect or suspect engagement manipulation
  4. the content creates safety, legal, or reputational risk
  5. YouTube restricts, blocks, removes the content, or issues a strike

Removal or disqualification may happen without notice.

16. Privacy and communications

  1. We use your contact details to manage your submission, approval, publishing, results, and support.
  2. We do not sell your personal data.
  3. By submitting, you agree to receive emails related to your entry and important platform updates.
  4. If we collect guardian details for under-18 Participants, we use them only for consent, safeguarding, and competition administration.

Do not include private personal details inside your video.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version available at the time you submit will apply to your entry.
